I'm raising money in aid of THE BOURNEMOUTH LEUKAEMIA FUND and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
The aim of this fundraiser is to spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of Leukemia as well as share my experiences with treatment.
I would also like to raise some money so the ward is able to continue their research into the causes and treatment of Leukemia. Also to replace some of the out dated exercise equipment that is vital to keep patients healthy to speed along their recovery.

My story;
For the last few weeks before I was diagnosed I've been feeling more and more unwell. Not wanting to give up, I powered on until things became too much and my eye sight became blurry. Seeking help, I had suffered a bleed at the back of the eyes but still none the wiser as to what had caused it.
Becoming more and more breathless I was finally able to see a GP in person and it was on Wednesday 5th August 2020 I was diagnosed with leukemia and rushed to hosptial.
As a serving police officer in Wiltshire police since 2018 and a Ex member of Ministry of Defense Police of 3 years my diagnosis came as a great shock. Never had I thought I'd ever get sick as I always put victims and the public before my self.
It's been a whirlwind of ups and down. But every day since my diagnosis I have improved and have been recovering well as I continue my long journey to be cured.
Leukemia is cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. Bone marrow stops producing healthy cells and symptoms can start slow then suddenly overwhelming you as healthy cells die.
No one knows the causes of Leukemia and the only way the doctors could explain it was "It's just bad luck." Not something a 29year old wants to hear.
Now I'd like to give back to a cause that has helped me through so much as well and inspire others to do the same.
