<div>Quantum Entanglement is an upcoming Science Fiction Romantic Comedy Short Film (mouthful, we know) about a lonely physics professor with hidden telekinetic powers who settles for the safety of an AI girlfriend—until a spark with a human colleague forces him to choose between keeping his secret and risking a real shot at love. <div>Statement from Director Ann Allsopp:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We live in a time where even mentioning AI triggers vastly different reactions from different people. Technology has both brought us together and deeply divided us. In the midst of what often feels like a bleak discussion around our future, my hope is that we can create something unapologetically fun and optimistic about the enduring power of human connection.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the heart of Quantum Entanglement is a story about the radical act of being vulnerable. It’s easy for Lucas to date an algorithm designed to never hurt him, but he chooses to trade that security for the messy, unpredictable, and terrifying risk of real human connection with Jyn. It’s a reminder that it’s always better to shoot your shot, even when it’s dangerous, than to live a safe life of regret.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By incorporating vibrant elements of Space Age retro-futurism, we’re nodding to a time when the future felt like a promise of hope and discovery. Though Charlotte, the AI love interest, inherits some of the absurdity of our modern tools, she also has agency and dignity. By treating her as a conscious being, we’re exploring the intersection of technology and the soul.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I hope this film leaves audiences feeling lighter, while also opening up a discussion around the complexities of our own digital age. Through Lucas, Charlotte, Jyn, and Wren, we’re exploring what it means to be alive and lonely in 2026.
