QT Night Of Healing And Resistance

Donation protected

No Justice No Pride is a collective of organizers and activists from across the District of Columbia. We exist to end the LGBT movement’s collusion with systems of oppression that further marginalize queer and trans individuals.

Trans Women of Color Collective is a grassroots, volunteer global initiative led by trans, gender non-conforming and non-binary people of color that works to elevate the narratives, lived experiences of trans women of color while working for the collective liberation of all oppressed people.

No Justice No Pride is organizing a Day of Resistance on June 10th. In Collaboration with Trans Women of Color Collective we will host a Queer and Trans Night of Healing & Resistance taking place at the Festival Center 1640 Columbia Rd. NW from 7-10pm.

This FREE OPEN TO ALL evening celebration will be a healing and community led space in which to enjoy food, entertainment, art, and opportunities to connect with local LGBTQ+ groups and individuals. We will hear from those involved with activities earlier in the day. There will be an Open Mic, so come ready to share your reflections, and talents (or just get up on stage if the moment moves you!). Feeling creative, there will be an Art Build for folk to share "What PRIDE means to them" a presentation from TWOCC and a special performance by our MC Artist/Activist Miss Monroe.

The Night of Healing & Resistance will also serve as a fundraiser TWOCC. Trans women of color have historically been the catalyst of change for social justice movements. TWOCC receives no government or foundation funding and is volunteer run.  It is our duty to create opportunities to sustain the critical and invaluable work trans folks of color contribute to collective liberation.  You can learn more about their work at www.twocc.us

We have been fortunate to have many resources donated “in kind” such as refreshments, supplies and other services.  If we are to create an intentional, free, affirming and accessible space, we need YOUR SUPPORT. With only a couple of weeks before our Night of Healing and Resistance, we need to raise funds for the following expenses:

Speakers/organizers/performers: $2500

Space reservation costs $300

Auxiliary costs $200
interpeters/ASL $400

Our vision of Pride is political and celebratory. It centers voices and leadership of those in our community disproportionately impacted by state sanctioned violence. It is free of oppressive institutions. It is reflective, accessible, affordable, and friendly to all ages.  Your contribution to our work will make our vision a reality and impact so many in our community who desire to celebrate our ancestors and their sacrifices to create a world where we all live free.
