Fund Feature Film

My name is Daniel Saulnier and I am a filmmaker and Senior at Montclair State University. It has been my lifelong dream to make films and I have spent the last 6 years learning to do just that. Since I was a sophomore in High School I have been working toward a feature film entitled Proving Ground. It is the story of a young boy who returns to his hometown after being away for 8 years and ends up coming face-to-face with his fate.

The Film centers around Tim Kilburn who returns to his hometown of The Highlands to work for the summer and reconnect with his younger brother and druggie mother. Tim, a 22 year old college kid who has spent the past 8 years being an outstanding student and talented athlete, comes home to a town that has been beat down and has changed so much, he doesn't even recognize it. After meeting up with some old friends and an ex lover, Tim is swept up into this new world of gangs and violence only to come face-to-face with an arch rival, Corey "Spike" Turner. After a small tussle and a flashback as to why the two hate each other, Spike swears vengeance on Tim and plans to have him killed. However, a mistake in these plans lead his men to kill Tim's younger brother Pete instead. This causes Tim to toss everything aside, reunite his friends and their old gang and go after Spike and his gang. (The film ends with Spikes death and with Tim accepting his fate as head of the gangs.)

The above is a short summery of a 113 page script I have been writing for the past 3 years now. It has been read by multiple professional screenwriters and film directors and I have already raised close to the budget needed to make the project happen. This final 5,000 will decide whether or not this film will be made. Casting is in the process (on callbacks) and the equipment and crew have already been secured. I have worked on this film extremely hard and this summer, it must be made! It is my Film Thesis (in other words major film project of my college career, and needed to graduate) and when it is completed, I plan on sending it to every film festival on the planet.

This is my dream and my future, the story is without doubt solid gold, and I have the talent and ability to make it. My crew is young but talented and the cast thus far is the same. Please, help me accomplish my goal and allow me to make this film.

Anyone who helps will be included in the credits and given a copy when it is finished. Not to mention anyone who gives 100 will be paid back if the film makes money
