Hola y bienvenidos, from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Welcome to my little corner of the world.

Next year, my plan is to take my awesome Jesuit education in journalism global. As a year-long volunteer with Rostro de Cristo in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I have found so many great stories worth sharing.

Sister Annie, the founder of a hospice care center for patients with modern-day leprosy (known as Hansen's Disease) has offered me the chance to investigate and report on her organization, The Damien House. In tandem with this project, I will be helping her compile 23 years of journals into a book for the Loyola Press and working on a project to spotlight social issues in the developing nation of Ecuador. I would also like to explore the dynamics of life in impoverished invasion communities.

Sr. Annie has already offered me room, board, and a ticket down for my time here, but I'm also relying on the generosity of my friends, family, and colleagues back home to help subssidize this experience. As you can imagine, a five month investigation across the equator bears with it many expenses for which I need to budget.

I have created this page to safely request and collect donations from those of you who both understand the necessity for this type of journalism in the broadening global media and are able to offer any amount of money to help me. If finances find you unable to donate money, I just as eagerly accept all prayers you can send my way as well.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Now, as Ignatius said, let's go forth and set the world on fire.
