Quise has been accepted at UC Berkeley’s Principal Leadership Institute for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Quise Rodriguez is an impressive person. When we think of Quise we think of the hope of someone like Senator Elizabeth Warren. Like Senator Warren, Quise is the real deal. She has tenacity, and she has lived the experience of the kids and families she wants to serve. Quise has a broad and inclusive vision for education that is illuminated by love. She understands the power for real change that is inherent in a leadership position.

My single mother sacrificed much to provide me rich opportunities via a quality education and a variety of cultural experiences. I want to be that facilitator for all children who need additional support to explore and realize their potential.”

Quise has been an inspired teacher in the Berkeley public schools for the past 5 years. She leads the Equity Teacher Team and serves on the School Leadership Team, bringing a diversity lens to the staff meetings that she helps facilitate. Quise has chosen this career path because she knows that a strong principal sets the tone for the entire school community.

I see challenging students make great progress under her thoughtful guidance. Her tenacious determination to do what it takes to help every child in her class succeed is one of Quise’s most striking assets as an educator."
