Custody of our Nieces

Donation protected

We are the Price-Larison Family. Last year our nieces were taken  from their parents custody by CPS and placed in our home. We cared for them and grew to love them over 9 months. Due to financial hardship at the time we had to make the excruciating decision to place them into the foster care system. Our financial situation has since changed dramatically, and with a second income we are trying to bring the girls home. We found an amazing attorney who is willing to work with us on his fee, and we have set up a payment schedule. If you would like to help us bring our girls home please click the donate button. We're not asking for much, we just want them out of the system and away from their violent-drug addicted parents. Any money that is donated will go straight to court costs and attorney fees.

A little bit about the girls back ground. Their parents are drug addicts and domestic abusers. They would neglect the children, choosing to sleep all day instead of get up to feed and care for their children. They were surviving on cracker crumbs and cold hot dogs from the fridge when they could find them. The girls were so malnourished the little one weighed only 14lbs when we got her. Both girls were skin and bones and had no idea how meal times worked at all. The older one displayed signs of deafness from birth, but her parents chose to ignore it. Often screaming at her and locking her in her dark bedroom for hours because she "wouldn't listen." They only had her tested well after she reached the age of 2, by this time both girls had severe speech delay and were living on survival instincts. The parents have a lack of interest in education for their children and show little interest in using ASL to communicate. Choosing to insist that their deaf child will learn to lipread.

Once we brought them into our home we had to battle PTSD, communication delays, sleeping problems and behavior issues. We watched the signs of abuse fester in two kids who were not potty trained (the older one was 3years old) they would often eat out of the garbage or horde food under their beds or pillows. They would display random tantrums and bouts of depression. Neither child was able to form proper attachment to caregivers. We put the girls in play therapy and began a daily routine including meal and snack schedules and bath time every night. We starting using sign language in our home and saw an immediate change in both girls. We took them hiking, to the park, enrolled them in school and daycare and nurtured their independent interests.

After over a year in the CPS system, the parents are still displaying the same kind of violent selfish behavior towards each other, and neglectful behavior towards the children, this deeply affects their children. This is the reason we have decided to gain custody and eventually adopt both girls. We have seen them grow in so many ways. We want them to grow up in a happy secure loving home away from drugs and violence. Please if you can helps us by donating just $1.00 or share our story with your friends, church, school, social group etc... the more ears we reach the more people will reach out to us.

thank you.
