My name is Nathan and I have set this page up to gather funds urgently needed for my partner Maree-Louise's medical treatment. I love this woman more than anything anywhere in the universe and anyone who has met her would understand why. Maree-Louise, or Pri - as she as affectionately known by her friends and family - is the most loving, giving and pure spirit I have ever known. She has selflessly cared, provided for and helped countless many people in this life - and I know that given the opportunity those people would wish to help her now when she needs it most.
Years ago Pri worked for a private company (which due to possible legal actions cannot be named here) involved with breeding beneficial bugs for ecosystem management. This company had incredibly poor safety standards which resulted in Pri being exposed for prolonged periods to a chemical and this has resulted in a chronic form of blood poisoning that is destroying her bone marrow and is now threatening her life. Whilst the doctors know that these chemicals have caused Pri's condition - it is incredibly difficult, expensive and time-consuming to prove it; so legal action against the company at fault is not a viable option to pay for her treatment. For some time now we have known that extensive surgery would be necessary to correct the problem. However, recent consultations with specialists have revealed that the issue is much, much more serious and urgent than first thought. Treatment needs to begin within weeks and is well beyond our current financial means.
The money raised will be paying for hospital fee's, further tests that need to be done to reveal the full extent of the surgery necessary, and for the surgery itself - which involves removing the bone marrow and grafting bone tissue from other parts of the body.
As my part in this, I will be offering up every cent I have and I also pledge to plant a tree for every $50 raised - if we reach our goal, that will be 440 trees - to be planted within the year. I will be gathering seeds of important Australian trees from the wild and seeing them through from germination to establishment. This process will be documented and updates provided to everyone who has donated. In this my intention is to offer gratitude back to the earth that sustains us all, and therefore to all whom have helped Pri.
Every little bit helps, no amount is to small - and most especially we need your help to share this with your friends, family, and other networks so that all whom connect with Pri's story can help.
