My family and I hate asking for help, but right now it is truly needed. My husband and I both lost our jobs last year and here in Las Vegas it has become increasingly difficult to find work. Extended unemployment was cut off by the federal government in December and since then we have been living off our savings, 401k, etc. I am a US Army veteran and have not yet received any help from the VA. I have a rare autoimmune disease. I had found work and went through training and then worked a week at my store before disaster hit for me. I was bit by a brown recluse spider that landed me in the hospital for 7 1/2 weeks, 52 days. I had 6 surgeries, luckily they were able to save my arm as I developed necrotizing fasciitis. It was a scary and painful journey for me, was in and out of ICU, but have finally made it home. Our previous funds paid our rent up until about 2 weeks ago, and bus passes for Will to make it to the hospital as our only car died 4 weeks ago and is in a parking lot near the hospital. My husband is working odd jobs but is having a hard time finding steady work. We have nothing left and are staying in a weekly rental trying to stay off the street. We have nothing left, I can't take it anymore having to ask for help but My children don't deserve this, so we are just asking for a little help to keep a roof over their head. Thank you so much for any help we received. We will pay it forward, that is our family motto in life.
Fast forward to now, October 22,2014. I am in the hospital again, with some internal bleeding they can't seem to find, a newly diagnosed ASD/PFO Atrial Septal Defect/Patent Foramen Ovale(essentially a large hole in my heart. I need 2 medications that currently
are not covered by my insurance(Medicaid) and I need them when I get home to keep clots from forming in my lungs and legs. The other is a long term oral antibiotic that Pfizer won't give help to their patients with their $2,500 a month price. I just wanted to give an update since I upped our limit from the original. My hubby did find a job that starts in about 3 weeks that will help us keep up rent hopefully. Thanks everyone, love you all.
