Lucy and her family need YOUR help with expenses to get her the treatment she needs.
A little bit about Lucy: From the moment you meet her, she is one of those people you want to be friends with, you love her right off the bat! Lucy is a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, great aunt, friend, and guardian. Friends and family describe her as being someone who is there for you when nobody else is, she loves people unconditionally, she speaks the truth in love, is fun, silly, self sacrificing, hard-working, warm, lovely, hospitible, a phenomenal cook, encouraging, motivating, strong, gracious, full of joy, strong in character and compassionate.
A little bit about what she does: She not only has a professional career but also runs a full time ministry, Peniel Crossing (learn more here ---> www.penielcrossing.com ). From the very beginning Lucy has had a willing heart, opening her home to 15+ women and children in need of refuge. As you can imagine, she has a full plate and a lot of people depending on her. But now it is her time of need and we all have a great opportunity to step in and help!
Why she needs your help:
Two months ago Lucy was diagnosed with cervical cancer (http://lucyzoe.com/2014/06/13/keep-calm-and-trust-the-story/ ).
Her intense treatment includes:
*Monday thru Friday – Radiation treatments in Lewiston for five (5) weeks.
*First round of chemo – Wednesday in Lewiston.
*Second thru Fifth rounds of chemo – Tuesdays in Moscow.
*Final two weeks of implantation radiation 3 days a week for 2 weeks in Spokane.
We decided to create this GoFundMe page to allow people like YOU to donate to Lucy so she can get the best medical attention, home care, nutrition, and accomodations she needs for her out of town treatments. All donations made on this site go directly to Lucy. Thank you so much for all of your support. Your donations will make a huge difference and all those that love her could not be more thankful for all of you! No donation is too small.
Please join us in being Lucy's Prayer Warriors!!! She has a long journey ahead through treatments and recovery period afterward while still maintaining an example of love for the women living in her home. We are filled with faith, hope and optimism. Lucy's Prayer Requests:
1-That I would be fearless and trust the story, and that my cancer would bring glory to God.
2-That the radiation treatments would only effect the areas where the disease resides and no other organs would be damaged.
3-Opportunities for me to share God’s greatness with others. I’m having a difficult time sitting in the waiting room with all the sick people, but I know God is beckoning me to share His love.
4-That the effects of the radiation and chemo would not overwhelm me and I will be able to work for as long as possible – without needing to take time off.
5-For the women and children of Peniel Crossing. That their daily needs would be met and God’s love would be evident to them.
