Support Bethanie's Battle with Leukemia

Donation protected
Bethanie Rose is an 2 year old little girl who was diagnosed on July 4th, 2011 with Infantile type Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Infantile Leukemia is a rare sub-type of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia that effects children less than 12 months of age. Unfortunately for Bethanie and others like her, the event-free survival rates are significantly less than those in children diagnosed when they are over a year old. Because of
this, the chemotherapy regimen is much more intense in strength and in frequency given. Bethanie was just 10 1/2 months old when she was diagnosed. She is one of four girls, and is a twin. In addition to her twin sister, she also has a 4 year old sister and a 14 year old sister. Bethanie's family is in shock and dealing with this news the best they can. Bethanie has undergone approximately 1 year of heavy, intense, inptatient chemotherapy treatments, with very little time away from the hospital during this time. She is now completing 1 year of outpatient chemotherapy. Unfortunately, Bethanie will still have to be hospitalized any time she has a fever or other signs of infection. Her family can use all the support possible. They had moved from Florida to Iowa just 3 months prior to her diagnosis and their support system locally is very limited, causing a great deal of stress and financial strain when emergencies happen, as family and other support persons need to travel long distances to help out. Please consider helping Bethanie out and follow her story on Facebook at Prayers for Bethanie.
