Prayers for Preslei

PresleiSavannah is a sweet, sassy, and fun loving 12 year old 7th Grader at Green Acres Middle. She was diagnosed with Infantile Scoliosis at the age of 6 months. Preslei loves to dance and forced her way onto the Praise dance team God's Angels  at St. James Missionaory Baptist when she was only 3 years old.

          Preslei's scoliosis has gotten progressively worse over time. Due to the worsening curve in her back she has days when she can barely walk due to pain, may have to use a wheelchair in order to maneuver around school, or some days she may simply smile and say she's okay even when she's not.

           Preslei has undergone being in several body casts and braces beginning  6 months of age to multiple surgeries to correct the curvature of her spine. She has had to endure being in halo traction as well having multiple surgeries to install growing rods. Despite all of these efforts given by her Pediatrician and her Orthopedic Specialist, there is nothing more that they can do to help her. A referral was done by Dr. Doyle, her Ortho specialist, to a doctor in New York that specializes in severe cases of orthopedic impairments.

      We have gone to a consultation in New York that was very promising. Dr.Lawrence Lenke has agreed to do the surgery that she needs after having the halo traction again. He will have to remove specific vertebrae from her back, realign her spine, reinsert screws and rods, and complete a spinal fusion.

       We are trying to raise enough funds so that we can get an extended stay hotel room and have some travel funds while in New York. The time frame for being in N.Y. is an estimated one and a half to two months. We will be leaving  April 23rd and are expected to return to Alabama by the end of May. If you can please help by making a donation to this cause.
