Asher Finn Reber was born this January to Shayla Finn Reber and Timothy Reber, both from the Lake area. Asher was born a happy, healthy baby. Shayla, being a nurse herself, noticed Asher's complexion appeared off on Sunday, March 9th. She brought him into a local hospital where it was determined several of his vital organs weren't functioning properly. Asher was then transported to the Texas Children's Hospital of Houston, where he is now. He has been diagnosed with a rare form of biliary atresia. He is faced with a series of complicated surgeries and possibly a liver transplant. The family has been told their time in Houston may last months. Besides the unimaginable pain the family is enduring watching their infant struggle, they are faced with many expenses. After insurance, the medical bills are still astronomical. The family must support themselves in Houston, paying for parking, food, and all else as they stay by their son's side. Unable to work, they must also maintain their bills and support their two other children here at home. Any donations, prayers, or support will greatly help Asher and the family during this time.
