In February 24th 2018 we got some bad news that my daughter Kayla Diaz, has a ill-defined mass in her upper abdomen the size of a softball. Doctors did a biopsy on the tumor and a bone marrow biopsy. On February 28th 2018 my daughter was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer. She started her first Chemo treatment on March 2nd 2018.
My name is Marlene Diaz mother of Kayla, I was born and raised in the city of San Pedro, Im a single mother of 3 children and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthiritis a year after i had kayla in 2009 and in 2014 i was diagnosed with Systemetic Lupus. Its been rough and even more now to see my 10 year old kayla going through this. Anyone that knows kayla will tell you shes a very bright girl and is a perfectionist when it comes to school, she is good girl very shy and very funny, you can just love her right away, she enjoys sports and im praying everyday for my daughter to beat this.

Backstory-
I've been telling Kayla 's pediatrician for almost 3 years leading up to this about her bladder problems but pediatrician declined to send us to a specialist and referred us to counseling instead. A few weeks ago Kayla started to have leg pain, pediatrician again said it was all in Kayla's head and told me to monitor it- still no specialist referral pediatrician said symptoms were not connected to each other in anyway. Then last Thursday, the pain increased and few minutes later she was unable to recognize anyone, not even her siblings or me. We rushed her to the emergency room where she had a seizure and doctors immediately sent her on a ambulance to Millers Children's Hospital, in Long Beach where she is now
