Oh Potato... words will never be able to express how much this dog means to me and how much he has healed my heart since I lost my most precious Burt in 2013. Someone shared this big head on Facebook several years ago and it was love at first sight. I tried to find other fosters for him, but he was always meant to be mine... He has been my training demo dog and my CPR demo dog from day one! I had to go to an event to demo CPR in a dog park for a rescue and I literally had just gotten him. We had NEVER practiced playing unconcious and I decided to wing it and my star was born! He was perfect! He has not missed a class since and has made fans everywhere he goes. As my Pet CPR & First Aid demo dog, he saves pet's lives and now it's our chance to help save his... Ft Hood Animal Shelter had a diamond in the ruff and he has been my gem ever since. He has eaten rope, a fitbit, and a random piece of leather that all blocked him up requiring the mysterious foreign body exploratory surgery and most recently during radiation treatments... a portion of a sheer curtain panel! And although the shelter and I both thought he was neutered because he had no visible testicles he proved us all wrong with a massive prostate problem lasting several months before we decided to open him again... to find 2 undescended testicles. I had had an amazing intact pitbull for over a year! Lol I thought in November that he had eaten something again... took him in and we ruled out anything in his stomach and his bloodwork looked okay so we just did fluids and medication. He never really rebounded so he went back a few days later and thyroid cancer was discovered. This is just another plot point in my boy's adventure... He had surgery to remove the tumor on December 1st and started radiation at the beginning of January. Three weeks into the four weeks of radiation treatment, he decided to complicate a few things by eating a portion of a curtain panel. This stopped his radiation temporarily while we went through 2 invasive and complicated emergency surgeries to repair the damage and remove the curtain. It has been a rollercoaster of a week and as soon as he is over THIS hump, he will continue radiation and then start chemo after some recovery time. He's goofy, gentle, lover of all people and dogs and especially his #notapuppy at home! He is not just my dog, he is my son and my heart. I know everyone is tight on cash and I am completely humbled to ask for help. I also know as a single mom running my small business, I know I have to ask for help from his fans, friends and family. He is a beacon to this community and I can't imagine doing what I do without him...
