Kisses for Polpetta

Earlier this week, Polpetta camped out in her corner of the gym, happily greeting those who came in and making sure everyone was safe and happy. Nothing indicated that she would be facing emergency spine surgery by Friday morning. When her owner, Giulia, awoke, P would not get up out of bed; when Giulia took her outside she was having difficulty walking and began dragging her back legs, unable to walk properly. Knowing that this was a little athletic pup who doesn’t hesitate to chase or jump during playtime, Giulia knew something was wrong and took her to the emergency vet. Within that day, Polpetta received an MRI to confirm she had ruptured a disc between I4/I5 and would need surgery.
Anyone who has come in contact with Polpetta knows what a true ray of joy she is. She befriends everyone who walks through the doors of CrossFit King of Prussia, giving kissing and love; there is always a group in between classes who can be seen sitting on the floor with Coach P. Her well behaved, playful, and joyous demeanor is the result of her extremely dedicated and caring owner, Giulia. Giulia is a magnetic individual, dedicated to helping others and can always be seen offering a word of advice and a perspective of truth and love. If you have ever met either Giuls or P, you tend to become fast friends and never forget how welcoming and warm they are.
While we all remain hopeful for Polpetta’s full recovery, we know this will not be an easy road for her or Giulia. Aside from the time that will need to be dedicated to rehabilitation and recovery, which can vary greatly depending on her state, medical bills will begin rolling in. Those who have taken a fuzzy friend to the vet knows that these visits do not come cheap, especially in such a complex case as this. Her family and friends keep both in our prayers. This page has been set up to accept donations for those that wish to contribute more to help.
