Heidi's ALS Story...

Donation protected
Hello...
Sadly and unfortunately after a year and a half of multiple wrong diagnoses, in  June of 2014 I was diagnosed with the most horrific disease on this planet, Lou Gehrig's Disease, which is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as ALS.  My life has been drastically changed, I'm living in my own  personal Hell.  I have lost the ability to use both of my hands, I can no longer feed myself.  I require 100% assistance to "use the restroom", so to speak.  I can no longer walk at all and I have been wheelchair bound since December 2015.  In April of 2015, a feeding tube was surgically  implanted because I began intermittantly choking on my food, which was very scary to say the least.  I was told if I waited any longer my body would not be able to physically handle the surgery.  I have lost 55 pounds of muscle weight since April 2015, my muscles have all begun to slowly atrophy.  I am in between the third and fourth stage of ALS.  My left arm has now completely atrophied, and my body is dead weight.   I am in constant debilitating pain, which hinders my ability to enjoy life.   For the most part I choose to tolerate the pain because I do not want to be a zombie and unaware of my surroundings.  I am also losing the ability to speak.  I now require 24 hour care, however I have drained all of my medical resources since 2014, the year of my diagnosis, and I am now on State Assisistance.  I have succumbed to Hospice, however they only provide 1 hour per day, therefore they are coming out 3 days a week for 2 hours a day to bathe me, etc.

My best friend Kathy Hessler has set up this Go Fund Me account in hopes of helping me get the " In Home Healthcare" I desperately need, because I now need 24 hour care that my family cannot possibly afford.

What a blessing it would be to help make life a little bit easier during Heidi's last stages of life.  Anything that you can contribute would be a blessing and greatly appreciated ~ $1, $5, $10, it  doesn't matter because everything adds up.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, we greatly appreciate your kindness.
