Hi my name is tamara owsley mother of 5 and a bestfriend i couldnt live without my husband i love to cuddle love to read, play outside swing my kids around and i love absolutely love to cook  On memorial day weekend my family and myself went camping with the rest of the family thats where my life changed forever at lake perry. After a long day of setting up our campsite we were sitting around the campfire telling stories the kids fell asleep so us adults wanted to be like kids again so we were playing hide-n-seek as i ran to go hide i ran into the strongest biggest stickest spiderweb of my life as i ran out screaming from running into that mess i felt a bite on my lower left arm i slapped it away and looked at where i got bit it looked just like a flea bit 2 little red marks. As the days went by my arm was getting more bigger and more tender until finally the 7th day my husband drew a circle around my arm and my arm was growing an inch an hour my husband rushed me to st francis in topeka kansas i was admitted right away i underwent 3 surgeries in 4 days the cut my arm wide open on the fourth day they pulled me out of surgery brought me back to my room infront of my husband started repacking the gauze and looked at him and told him they didnt have the knowledge or expertise to take care of me that i needed to be at ku med in kansas city an hour in a half away. I got an ambulance ride to the university of Kansas med center my husband wasnt to far behind they put me in surgical icu where i underwent a surgery nearly everyday for 2 weeks i was in so much pain i didnt want to go on i wanted to give up numerous times but the thought of my kids living without a mother was stronger then the pain so i continued with the surgeries the debridements i made the best i could out of a crappy situation everyday i was in surgery so much that i knew almost everybodies names in the 2nd floor, surgeons and that was alot of themeverything in my left arm is gone besides the bone a skin graphs to cover up the bone my left pectoral muscle is gone doc said i was permanently disabled so after 43 days in the hospital 16 surgeries i finally got to come home i cant do alot of things i use to at least i came home with my life. Its been an expensive trip and a great lesson learned never take the small stuff for granted. Thank u for taking the time to read my story god bless
