My name is Violette VinZant. After six years of applying, I finally got a teaching contract for second grade. The school is in the Delta area and is mostly low income families. Competition for classroom funding is high and with this being my first full year, I do not have any savings. School starts in three weeks so I am scrambling to find resources to get my room prepared. The outgoing teacher left the room bare. There is no shelves or books, no math tools, no paper, pencils, crayons; the list is long. I don't have any posters or any kind of encouraging sayings. No calendar wall. There is 3 cork boards but nothing to put on them. Whatever help you can give will be greatly appreciated by me and every student in my room. God bless you all.
