Pink Bow Benefit 2014!

Donation protected

1 in 100 babies are born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) every year. CHDs are the number one ranking birth defects and affect more babies than all childrens' cancers combined!

Pink Bow Diaries invites you to become a part of something special, to be an agent of change, spreading love and hope to anyone touched by this condition! We invite you to make a kind donation to our inaugural Pink Bow Benefit 2014 charity fundraiser event!

Our muse, Mila Troy.

WHO:
Pink Bow Diaries is a local blog founded by Columbia resident, military spouse and mom Maya Troy, to support individuals and their families dealing with CHD; as having a child with a chronic illness is a challenging experience that no-one or family should experience alone.

The blog seeks to inspire, uplift, and encourage people dealing with any life challenge including this illness. The Troy family has an infant daughter born with the CHD - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), who serves as the inspiration for this initiative.

The Troy Family.

WHAT:
The Pink Bow Benefit will aim to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) among infants and adults, celebrate those living with this chronic illness and support the American Heart Association in its continued CHD research and education efforts in this regard.

The event is being put on with the support of the American Heart Association, to which a part of the event’s proceedings will be donated. Part proceeds will also be donated to the cardiac unit of the Children’s Bustamante Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica; by way of Chain of Hope Jamaica Charity.

Donation timeline is by event date!

The event's objectives are:
1. To raise much needed funds to assist the selected charities in their unrelentess efforts to educate and support research  regarding CHD as well as to provide medical care, equipment and infrastructure to assist those affected by it.
2. To share experiences and provide information to help raise awareness about CHD, which affects approximately 40,000 babies and millions of adults each year.
3. To provide an experience where families can be educated, inspired and encouraged to live full, wholesome and enjoyable lives with their loved ones diagnosed with CHDs.
4. To recognize the courage of children and adults living with CHD and honor the medical professionals who continually dedicate themselves to researching, treating and caring for those with this condition.
