Support Phoenix's Au-someness!

Donation protected
As many of you may know our Phoenix was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in September 2013.  Autism refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as unique strengths and differences.

Phoenix has autism, but autism doesn't have him! To know him is to love him. Phoenix is a protective big brother, a wiz with technology, loves to jump on his trampoline, play on the swings and has a phenomenal memory. He enjoys every book with Pete the Cat and values his personal DVD collection. Although he has made  major strides with his communication, his greatest challenge, continues to be expressive language.

With the support of our private speech therapist we continue to see improvements. However, it is recommended that Phoenix receives anywhere from 5-8 hours of speech therapy a week to make the biggest impact. With insurance he receives 2 sessions per week and we are diligently working to pay out of pocket to pay for additional sessions, and that's why we need your help!

Normally, at this time of year we ask you for funds to support the Autism Speaks Chicago walk. We still plan on participating in the walk this year and making a family donation. However, we wanted to make a more personal impact this year by requesting help to assist with Phoenix's speech therapy.  Donations in any amount are appreciated and can be used immediately for Phoenx's weekly speech sessions.

We thank you in advance for your support!
