Lip Sync for Literacy

Donation protected
Phi Sigma Sigma is excited to announce two new philanthropic partners; The Kids in Need Foundation and Practice Makes Perfect. These new partnerships directly benefit Phi Sigma Sigma’s national philanthropic cause, School and College Readiness.

In October 2015, the women of the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority at Drexel University will be hosting a brand new philanthropic event. Lip Sync for Literacy will consist of a school-wide competition in which teams of up to 5 people will compete in a lip syncing contest, similar to that of Jimmy Fallon and Spike's new show, Lip Sync Battle. There will be food and prizes as well to raise money in support of this cause. All proceeds are donated to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation whose beneficiaries focus on empowering students to graduate high school and seek secondary education.

Currently, 1.2 million students drop out of high school each year in America. These students are eight times more likely to go to prison, 50% less likely to vote, more likely to need welfare, less qualified than 90% of the job market, and make 40 cents to the dollar of a college graduate. In comparison to other developed countries, America is ranked 20th in graduation rates. However, Phi Sigma Sigma aims to create the change needed to empower students to graduate by providing the necessary tools and guidance they seek.

Last year, our Chapter raised over $11,000 for the Philadelphia School District and under served schools all across the nation. This year, it is our hope that with the generous contributions from family, friends and businesses, we can raise over $20,000 to donate to the Philadelphia District and our new philanthropic partners.

We hope that you will consider a contribution to our non-profit organization. Recognition of event sponsors and generous donors will be acknowledged on promotional material, on our website www.phisigmasigmabetarho.com and announced at the event. Please make checks out to Phi Sigma Sigma Beta Rho.

All gifts and donations are tax deductible according to IRS guidelines, the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation is a 501(c)4. Our tax ID is: 20-5942561. If you need further information, please feel free to contact [email redacted].

We hope that you will want to support us in this endeavor and we thank you for your consideration!

Sincerely,
The Sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma Beta Rho Chapter
