After a courageous effort and will to battle through stage 4 melanoma with the love of his life Tamara by his side every step of the way, Peter recently lost his battle on December 15, 2017. Despite initially only being given 2 months to live, Peter’s courage, his optimism, and his logical yet wishful approach to battling this beast called cancer paved the way for 18 remaining months of quality life with us.
Tamara as a Chef threw everything she had into researching nutrition, vitamin therapy, everything from a Vegan Cold Pressed Juice Diet to the Gerson Therapy & more. Their journey translated into a book they began to write to help other couples, families who have woken up with this nightmare at their doorstep. Peter won't be here with us but Tamara will finish it for them. Peter & Tamara were not only able to share their fears as a couple going through this but as parents of very scared kids too . . . Cancer hurts everyone.
To the end, Peter believed he would be here to see 2018, to watch his daughter graduate high school, to see his son score a goal in soccer this summer, to swing on the hammock with Tamara at their beloved Lakehouse that was their home. Peter had months & months when he was only given weeks; it would not have been possible if it were not for the love and support of the love of his life Tamara, his loving children, family and dear friends who remained close by in his time of need. If you knew Peter, you knew he was the best friend you could have ever hoped for.
Tamara and Peter discussed their desire to establish a memorial fund in his name that would provide financial assistance to children, family, spouses and caregivers in time of need. Our hope is not only to help Tamara and family now in their time of need, but to establish the basis for an ongoing legacy in Peter’s name. This will allow Tamara to share with others not only her life experiences with Peter during their journey, share her love, and compassion, and to be able to provide some financial assistance for those that Tamara may feel may be in need.
The formal legacy fund will soon be established for donations to ensure Peter's journey and legacy remain alive for not only those that knew of Peter and Tamara's journey up to his recent passing, but for those that wish to participate in a wonderful cause in the name of a wonderful person.
In lieu of flowers or other general donations, it is the request of Tamara for all donations to be made towards Peter’s legacy fund, details to follow soon.
