Hurricane Victims Medical Care

As you all know Pet ResQ Inc. has  been very involved in helping animals who have been displaced because of Hurricane Harvey! Every animal that was already in the system ( IE: Shelters and foster homes) had only 2 options in order to make room for the impending influx of animals who would soon need a place to go. Option 1> euthanasia which is the quickest and most common. 2> Coordinate rescue groups and shelters across the country to give these animals a chance that was just taken away from them by mother nature. That's where we excel. Downside: many of these animals had little if none veterinary care so we are now responsible. These are our first 3 Heartworm positive dogs. So far our bills have exceeded  $3,000 and not one treatment has begun! The influx is just beginning and one by one each and every dog is going to the vet to be checked out. Neutered,Spayed,updated on all shots,frontlined,Heartworm tested,etc. Many also have tick born diseases..This is a huge expensive undertaking. They are worth it!
