Penny McCauley

As many of you know, my niece Penny was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. This means that there was a hole in her diaphragm that helps to separate your crest cavity from your abdominal cavity. In her case, her large intestines, stomach and spleen had entered her chest cavity causing her to need surgery to repair this and an extensive stay in the NICU for recovery. She was born on 8/16 and has been such a warrior since she entered the world facing this tough battle. She is stable and has had the surgery to repair the hernia. We are so proud of this little fighter, but it isn’t over yet. We need Penny to stay strong and rest up so that she can continue to heal and come home to be with her family.

As you can imagine, a stay in the NICU of any length is very expensive. In Penny’s case, we could be looking at weeks or months of care from these incredible doctors. My sister, Brooke, and I are raising money for my sister and brother-in-law to help cover the medical costs that they will be facing.

Donations of any size are grately appreciated. Of course, we also would love more prayer warriors to help us get our niece home safe and sound.
