Pedro Ramírez Laugerud

Hola, mi nombre es Jorge Ramírez Laugerud, mi hermano Pedro fue diagnosticado con Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda tipo B en Guatemala en diciembre del 2016, noticia devastadora para nuestra familia. Desde ese momento inició un agresivo tratamiento de quimioterapias, logrando remisión en mayo del 2017. Sin embargo, en julio de este mismo año tuvo una recurrencia y ya inició un nuevo tratamiento de quimioterapia.
Los médicos nos han indicado que el próximo paso es realizar un trasplante de medula ósea. Lamentablemente en nuestro país no se realizan este tipo de procedimientos y las aseguradoras no cubren en su totalidad los costos del procedimiento en otros países. Estamos investigado opciones en diferentes países y los costos son excesivamente altos.

A lo largo de este camino hem os recibido el apoyo y cariño de muchas personas, frente a la posibilidad de realizar un trasplante de médula ósea muchos de nuestros amigos y familiares nos han preguntado constantemente como pueden ayudar. Es por ello que decidí realizar esta solicitud y pedirles su apoyo para mi hermano y su familia.

Pedro se encuentra en estos momentos muy positivo, con esperanza y con mucha fe en Dios de cara a esta nueva oportunidad. Su solidaridad le ayudará a salir adelante y sobrepasar esta prueba. Nuestro amor a mi hermano y confianza en el plan perfecto de Dios nos ha llevado a este momento en el que compartimos su lucha y abrimos este espacio para solicitar su apoyo.

Estoy seguro que con su determinación, fe y ganas de vivir Pedro sanará y seguiremos compartiendo momentos juntos.

Hello, my name is Jorge Ramirez Laugerud, on December 2016, my brother Pedro was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) b-cell type in Guatemala, devastating news for our entire family.  From that moment, he began some aggressive chemotherapy treatments, obtaining remission in May 2017. However, in July he had a relapse and already initiated a new chemotherapy treatment.

All the doctors had indicated that the next step is to perform a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, in our country, there are no such procedures and medical insurance companies do not fully cover the costs of that procedure in other countries. We are searching for options in different countries and the costs are extremely high.

Along the way we have received the support and affection of many people, facing the possibility of performing a bone marrow transplant many of our friends and family have constantly asked us how they can help. That is why I decided to make this request and ask your support for my brother, his wife and children.

Pedro has a very positive attitude and a lot of faith in God, with hope that he’ll overcome this battle. Your solidarity will help him pass through this difficult test. Our love for my brother and trust in God's perfect plan has led us to this moment in which we share his struggle and open this space to ask for your support.

I am sure that with his determination, faith and desire to live Pedro will heal and we will continue to share moments together.
