Hey, everyone!
I want to let you know about my grandma, Candida Flores. She's quite the remarkable woman. My Nana has had an impressive and extensive 30+ year career as an educator, humanitarian and government official. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Family Life Education in Hartford, CT, it is her belief that each person stands as separate representations of his or her own community, and that in order to find success as a society, we must first look to one another to both inspire and evoke change and hope.
She is currently the PeaceJamNE Chapter Affiliate for Hartford, CT. For those of you who don't know, those super fun slams we go to in CT are all her non-profit, Family Life Education's, doing!
On top of being a Community Service Superstar in Connecticut, she is a single mother of five wonderful women and the Grandmother to six pretty incredible grandchildren. She truly envokes the matriarchal role and has done so much for her family.
This is why I've reached out to you. My Nana has done so much for everyone in her life, and I would love to see the community give back to her in her time of need.
She has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer, and really needs help with her medical expenses. The hospital, surgery, and chemo bills definitely pile up very quickly. She's struggling immensely with her finances at the moment, and I know us PeaceJammers have the biggest hearts and the most passion out of pretty much anyone in the world. This is why I'm reaching out to you! My family and I would appreciate it very much if you could lend us a helping hand.
