A service dog for Myah

Our daughter, Myah, is many things. She is sweet, funny, likeable & hardworking. She also has nonverbal autism.
Autism is a neurological disorder involving a spectrum of behaviors and characteristics causing communication, social, and sensory difficulties. We are seeking a service dog for Myah. Myah's service dog will cost us approximately $15,000.00.
Having a service dog will make a world of a difference for Myah. The dog will help her be more independent and safe in her daily life. The dog will be trained to interrupt repetitive or undesirable behaviors to help her refocus. The dog will snuggle with Myah when she gets stressed or anxious, helping to avoid meltdowns. The dog will also be trained to keep Myah safe. Myah does not have a sense of danger. If something catches her attention, she will go after it whether it is in water, in the street, or in any other dangerous place. The dog will help Myah transition to sleeping by herself and give her the sense of comfort she needs throughout the night.
Myah has been approved to receive an autism service dog through Perfect Fit Canines, out of Pittsburgh, PA.
We are very excited to give Myah the gift of a service dog. She so desperately needs & deserves this!
