Support Paul's Margi & Brad

Support for Paul's beloved Margi and Brad.

It is with the deepest sadness that we pass on the news that well known country music commentator and friend to many, Paul Rowe passed away Friday, 22nd August from what we understand is a heart related condition.

Paul, who has spent most of his career in the radio industry in both New Zealand and Australia, and more recently over the last 15 years, headed up the iconic Festival FM at the Tamworth Festival, spent the last days of his life doing what he loved - on air at Australia's largest field days as the AgQuip FM on site PA voice.

Many of you will know Paul as the first contact for involvement in both the Festival FM radio station and the Official Guide to the Tamworth Country Music Festival publication, a task he performed with passion, professionalism and a great sense of humour.
Paul's sudden passing has, and will, affect many of us in different ways, and our collective thoughts from not only the Rural Press Events team, but the whole country music family, go out to Paul's wife Margi, and their son Bradley, step sons Chris, Jason and Jeremy, and Paul's other sons Simon, Brendan and Cristopher and their extended families.

In Paul's latter years he battled with many health issues which has lead to some significant financial challenges for Margi and Bradley. As much as Paul would not have endorsed this, nor asked for it, we extend an invitation to any who have been touched by Paul in some way to contribute to Margi and Brad's immediate future to allow them to find some security in a life without their beloved Paul.

Paul didn't want to have a eulogy read at his funeral and in his own style he wrote a speech to be read.

The last two paragraphs of this speech read as follows:

"I know that when a person passes on there is a feeling of sadness, grief and a period of mourning but I ask that you all be happy today ... happy that I have had a great life in Australia with Margi, happy that I am now pain free and at peace and happy that you will no longer have to listen to my very bad and generally dirty jokes."

"Please help Margi get through this time. I will miss her terribly and hope she finds happiness until we meet again."

"Farewell, Adios, Goodbye and Arohanui"

The Rural Press Events/Capital News family will of course be there as support for Paul's family and know you will also be there to help Margi and Bradley through this time.

Funeral Details:

DATE: 3rd September 2014
TIME: 10:00am
PLACE: Lincoln Grove Cemetery, 1040 Gunnedah Road, Tamworth, NSW, 2340

Thank you, in anticipation, on behalf of Paul.
