Paula Mendoza's Memorial Fund

Paula Mendoza’s unexpected passing at the young age of 29 has shaken the lives of all who knew her.
She had unique relationships with those lucky enough to call her mom, wife, daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was always surrounded by those she held dear and she filled their hearts with love and laughter. Her kindness was only surpassed by her wisdom and willingness to share and give good advice. To her friends and family, Paula was as funny and full of love as they come.
She was a caring wife and an attentive mother. Her husband, Alex, is struggling to live without her and her son, Noah, will feel the loss of his mother for the rest of his life. She was a close confidante to her younger sister and brother, and her sister- Michelle -often fights the urge to call Paula for their daily hours-long phone conversations. After burying their daughter, her parents -Prima and Billy - are understandably heartbroken, and her father has said it’s made even worse because he’s also lost his best friend.

Besides being a beautiful person inside and out, Paula was also an amazing artist and supporter of all artists. She could see the best in people and encouraged others to be creative. On Sketch Club where she showcased her art and was part of an online community, she was loved for her talent and her inspirational correspondence with members of the online community.
The world lost a great artist, a boy lost a wonderful mother, a husband lost a devoted wife, and her family and friends lost the best confidante.
This time of tragedy has been only magnified for her family which has gone into debt to pay for Paula’s memorial services, her grandmother even giving up her cemetery plot next to her late husband so that Paula would have a final resting place because otherwise, the family would be unable to afford one. But the biggest cause of anxiety has not just been the financial toll of Paula’s final expenses, but the uncertainty of Noah’s care. Dying so young and unexpectedly, Paula had not fully made arrangements to provide for Noah’s care, his future, and education.

So while Paula’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts and lives of those who have lost her that could never be filled, any donations can help secure the present and future of her son and alleviate some of the anxiety of her immediate family. Thank you all for your love and support.
