Pat Ryan, one of Northern California's pioneers of rock & roll, cannabis, and underground art, has enjoyed a prolific and diverse career that spans more than five decades exploring historical Native American themes, cultural icon portraiture, graphic art, comic book, graphic novels, newspaper strips, illustration, and fine art to name just some of his works.
He is a member of the original San Francisco Bay Area underground art community that includes Mouse & Kelly, Robert Crumb, Victor Moscoso, the late Dave Sheridan, Rick Griffin and others. Pat is a founding member of Artista and has fans all over the world. Cannanthropology named Pat as one of the 100 most influential people in the world of cannabis. To those who know him, Pats humor and original perspective is one of the brightest points in the art community.
Pat was a dedicated husband to his wife Cyretta for over 50 years (RIP) and is a loving father to their children Amber, April, Alex and Claire. His five grandchildren affectionately know him as “Grambo”. Family and friends mean everything to Pat.
Very recently Pat was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is in immediate need of our support as he now requires 24/7 care and attention. We are reaching out to Pat’s fans, our family, friends and community to contribute much needed funds that will go directly towards supporting Pat and his family during this very difficult time.
