Yesterday early afternoon (1/23/18) Tommy received an emergency phone call from his mother. Their house was on fire. Unfortunately, they live in a rural area with only volunteer firefighters as first responders. When they did arrive, they only had the water in their tanks. Even though other volunteer firefighters from neighboring communities arrived, they ran out of water. Also, the high winds yesterday kept reigniting the fire every time it seemed to be getting under control.
Pat and Orlinda Hernandez have lost everything. They made it out with only the clothes on their backs. Sadly, their two dogs ran back into the burning house. Despite both of them going back in to the fire, they lost both dogs.
They did not have insurance so they are starting from nothing. Please, please share their story and donate whatever you can (even the smallest amount helps!).
