Pastor Coffee's Road to Recovery

On Monday, December 15, Pastor Coffee was scheduled to have a minor and minimally invasive procedure performed. During the procedure, there were some complications, causing the need for the surgeons to perform a much more invasive surgery. Instead of Pastor Coffee going home, he was admitted to the hospital. The following days and weeks were very critical.
Pastor Coffee had an infection and possible bowel obstruction and on Christmas evening, his team of doctors had to make the very difficult decision to perform yet another operation. On December 26, Pastor Coffee went in for another surgery. While it all appeared to go smoothly, his medical team quickly realized that all was not well.
After several more weeks of battling infection, inflammation and being on a feeding tube, Pastor Coffee was stable enough to enter a high level rehabilitation facility. He began what appeared to be a "simple" yet lengthy recovery process. Only a couple of weeks later, and on his birthday, he began to get violently ill. More testing showed a diagnosis of pancreatitis requiring Coffee to be readmitted to another hospital.
Why you're here: Pastor Coffee is stable enough to begin transitioning home, but will definitely return to surgery in the next few months. He still has an open wound (about 6-8 inches of his abdomen), he will be on a feeding tube and he will likely be unable to work in the coming weeks. His open wound requires a wound management system that the insurance company will not cover. Additionally, his wife will be taking a leave of absence from work to care for him. The wound management system will cost upwards of approximately $1,000 a week.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 to assist with his wound care supplies and other essential needs.
