The Parks to Bali
Aloha!
For everyone who has been asking, and those who are curious; I hope this answers any and all questions of 'What exactly are you going to be doing?', 'where in the world are you going?'.
We got married in February and are now embarking on a mission together united as one! A good friend of ours, Richard, who is the founder of the organization Loving Orphans Global, called us in January to ask if we would be interested in coming to Bali, Indonesia to serve at an orphanage and share Jesus with these rad kids. Loving Orphans Global has many homes for orphans around the world that takes care of kids by educating them, giving them a home, food and most importantly teaching them to follow Jesus Christ.We will primarily be loving on the kids and hanging out with them. We are going to show them that they have God as their father and that he is not like their human parents. If we put our faith and trust in him he will never leave us or forsake us. This is an amazing opportunity to show the fathers love to kids who have no parents. We couldn't be more stoked on such an awesome opportunity! We know that God will provide for every need and through this we will have even MORE crazy stories to share with you on God's faithfulness, love, and grace.
Our goal is to be in Bali by June. We are going with a one way ticket and letting God guide the rest. With this trip we have an affirmed mission; to love these kids as Jesus does. We believe that God will do so much more through us to touch the lives of others in Bali and each destination during travel in between, we just have to get there.
So... we need your help to get to Indonesia!! JP and I are asking if you would partner and help sponsor first by prayer and second financially. Finances will help fund our flights and travel expenses..
What is included in 'travel expenses'? Those expenses would cover the costs of our visas/visa renewals. Our visas only allow us to be in Indonesia for 60 days at a time, we will then have to leave the country every two months for 4-5 days to apply for a new visa. Praise God that a flight to Kuala Lumpor, Malaysia is around $60/per person, and hotels are very inexpensive. There is a possibility of obtaining a social visa after the first 60 days which would allow us to be in the country for 6 months without leaving. See breakdown of expenses under wish list.
Praise God that He has blessed me with a job that I can do anywhere in the world, so we will have partial income as we are there to cover living expenses. We also want you to know that we currently have some money set aside to help with other expenses for our trip. We're not dependent upon finances from this site-but on Jesus. We trust that God will provide for all of our needs, He has never failed to come through for us with abundantly more than we need.
There are 32 orphans at the home we will be staying at, from ages 1-16. If you would like to donate/send anything for these kids, everyone would be stoked! Every type of support is SO helpful, whether its praying for us, or sending a dollar. Everything counts and we are very blessed by your participation.
