We reached our goal of raising $5,000. It only took us three days thanks to all of you! We really appreciate all of you sharing our story and donating. Children Services gave us two fifty dollar gifts cards and a voucher for clothing.. and that was it. So your donations will go towards us keeping things afloat at home, their family..and will also go towards them having the resources they need inorder to be successful in the future.

Some people prepare for months when they are expecting children.
On February 8th of this year, Taylor and I had an hour.
In that hour, we had to decide how the next couple of weeks would look in our life. Would the kids go into the foster care program or would we be able to take them in for a couple of months while their family worked their options out. We decided to take in two of the teenagers I had been mentoring for over five years.
We are starting this GoFundMe in hopes that it offsets some of the costs for having two teenagers in the house, as well as provide some immediate aid to the family so that they can get back on track.
Words cannot express how thankful I am for the amount of support we have already received through delicious dinners being dropped off at our doorstep, or schools providing gift cards to grocery stores, movies, and coffee shops. Thank you to our family members, friends, and neighbors who have reached out to us during this time. Your words of encouragement are much needed.
Our end goal is that the kids can go back to a clean and safe home. The money will go towards buying new clothes, bombing the house, purchasing new-like furniture, aiding their grandpa who has taken in one of the teenagers, and towards some of our expenses at home. This is a family of 12 who has been ripped apart and spread throughout the foster care system. Taylor and I are fortunate enough to have these teenagers in our home, and love them as if they are our own.
Two years ago we were able to raise enough money to cover the costs of a storage unit, and provide support for a couple months for the family. This obviously, is a much bigger goal. Maya Angelou, once stated, “Nothing will work unless you do.” We understand that talking about how to help isn’t actually helping. We understand that you have to actually do something to make the change. We are trying to start the movement.
Any amount of donation is appreciative and please know that it will go towards helping the children’s future.
