Parker Family Memorial Fund

On February 17, 2015, four members of the Parker family, James (Randy), and Freddye (Dee)  both 46 years old, James Jr., 11 years old and Jarred, 7 years old, died tragically in a house fire.

This heartbreaking tragedy did not only affect the Parker family and friends. This loss extends to the Detroit families where both Randy and Dee gave so much of their lives to mentor hundreds of children through the Detroit PAL organization and Motor City All-Stars, which they founded. They were parents who were not only involved in both James and Jarred’s sporting activities, but this passion was extended to other families over the last several years.

For instance, Randy was a coach in the Detroit PAL baseball, basketball and football leagues. He was known for requesting kids who did not have a team, regardless of skill level, to ensure each child had an opportunity to play.  One of the many qualities Randy possessed was his dedication to building character in young people.  He was most willing to go the extra mile for Detroit PAL and his organization, the Motor City All-Stars. In addition, his wife Dee was integral in coaching girls cheerleading.

Randy and Dee also have three children in college that are mourning the loss of their family. We ask that you especially keep them in your prayers at this time. The loss of the Parker family is most overwhelming.  It is being asked for those who feel inclined to contribute in order to assist the family with burial costs.  Any contribution big or small will be greatly appreciated.
