Help a Brain Cancer Patient

Donation protected

Parimol Baroi (Minu, a devoted Catholic) was my son's first Nanny until she suffered a severe stroke back in May of 2017. Doctors diagnosed a brain tumor (left frontal extraaxial brain mass) and she went through 5 hours long brain surgery in Good Samaritan Hospital, Long Island. She recovered temporarily but needed another surgery back in Jan of 2018. The tumor turned somewhat malignant and she is in need of radiation therapy; which is not covered by NY medicaid and it will cost approximately $30k.

She is the only bread winner of the family as  her husband is suffering from disability back home. She has a grown up son but he is also dependent on family's help to get by. In this situation, Minu auntie decided to settle down in USA in order to support her family. I got to know her through a referral while I was looking for a reliable Nanny for my new born. As soon as she stepped into our house, she won our hearts very quickly. Her professionalism
and caring attitude was remarkable. We felt so lucky to have found her.

Unfortunately, one fine morning she was unresponsive and went into coma overnight. We could never guess that her life would change so quickly. All these years she was carrying a big brain tumor (almost the size of a lemon) which she didn't even realize. Sometimes, she used complain about severe headaches, but nothing major. Upon my request she did a complete check-up but doctors never suggested or noticed anything unusual. Primary care physician never suggested any MRI/CAT scans either. So, everything was business as usual until that fine morning when she wasn't waking up at all. I became the local guardian and took all the decisions for the treatments and recovery upon family's request.

Now, her situation has deteriorated further. Her family support in USA is very limited. She ran out of options. Her only hope is to return to Dhaka, be with family, and continue treatments with whatever resources they are left with.

It is a very sad situation and I am deeply moved by it. I have tried supporting financially but I could do so much, thus I need your support for a noble cause in helping someone who is in genuine need of your compassion, prayers and financial help (if possible).

I have shared some recent pictures and also some pics taken during my son's first birthday celebration- a few days after that event she suffered the fatal stroke.

Please join me in helping her, and accept our heartfelt gratitude.

Also, please feel free to pass this message along.

Thank you!

Regards,

Munir and Family of Parimol Baroi.
