Hurricane Stand

Many of you have followed Nicole's story in Houston over the past week. She was admitted into the hospital in Houston on Friday to deliver twin boys, making their family a party of 6 (ALL BOYS)!  While they knew Harvey was approaching, their older boys were safe with her parents; she and her husband, Murray who is a Marine, spent Friday delivering two absolutely perfect babies. While they are healthy in size, they were admitted into the NICU until Sunday when she could finally hold them freely in her arms. Upon that very day, Nicole was awoken in the middle of the night to be moved on a magnesium drip due to a high risk of seizures. Because of the low staff at the hospital the nurse missed her numbers initially, and thankfully she was still under the care to be watched. As of yesterday, her parents had to be evacuated, her older boys were rescued by boat, her babies are out of the NICU and she is being observed—most likely to be discharged today.

But here’s the kicker—they don’t have anywhere to go.

The home they saved for YEARS to buy has been flooded, and I learned last night they do not have flood insurance. Its unfathomable. They haven’t been able to leave the hospital to assess the damages, but neighbors have sent pictures where the first floor is completely destroyed, and their car is totally submerged. Murray’s sister has welcomed them into their home and they expect FEMA will move them to a hotel in the coming weeks.

It is overwhelming imagining Houston, the families that have been impacted and the incredible loss we face. After talking with my kids (ages 6, 4 & 1) about Nicole, her boys and their home—we came up with the idea to help. On Saturday, Sunday & Monday between 1-3:00 this weekend we will be hosting a Lemonade Stand where 100% of the profits will be sent to Nicole & Murray as they recover from Hurricane Harvey.

Please come by, spread the word and help us raise as much money as we can to help!

Where: 810 West Johanna Street, 78704

Go Fund Me Edits:

I am one of Nicole's best friends from college, we've been friends for over 20 years.  All funds raised will go 100% to the Pawloski Family for use at their discretion.   I am not representing a non-profit organization.

Nicole is one of those people who would give you the shirt off of her back.  Literally.   Murray is a Marine, who has the strongest work ethic of anyone I know--they are amazing people.  And they have been knocked out by Hurricane Harvey.   They would NEVER ask me to set up this GoFundMe, they initally asked me to take it down.   But as any good friend would do, I forged ahead.  Thank you for reading their story!
