Dear PSHS Parents, Supporters, and Friends,
My name is Becca Postma, and I will be directing the PSHS spring musical production of Mary Poppins.
I am so excited to bring the magic of Mary to the stage. Over the past several years, our program has continued to grow and bring the joy of performance to more and more students.
Occasionally, we as a department take on a show with many technical elements and possible enhancements that can truly bring the characters to life. In 2007, we mounted a production of Peter Pan and brought in a professional company, ZFX Rigging, to help us achieve the effect of flying characters.
This is something that we are excited about and hopeful to implement again for Mary Poppins. The only way we will attempt this type of effect is with a professional company that will keep the safety and well-being of the student performers and technical crew at the forefront of the work.
For our production, the cost that we have been quoted is approximately $7,500. The students and production staff are working hard to fundraise and bring in the money to make this happen, but even so, we will need some additional support.
Your financial donation would go so far to support our students and the place of performing arts in our community. Donations are tax-deductible, and donors will receive a “Thank You” shout out in our show program.
