Past the set backs, On the comeback

Donation protected

Hello and thank you! After the last 5 months of being hospitalized, I have now made it home and starting to adjust to life without my legs. I have to say things are going very well as far as my health and I am now off all medications for the first time in over 3 years. That also means I am now living without any wounds on my body for over 3 years. For those who don't know, I just had my legs amputated below the knee due to a bone infection and wound that I could not heel. Iaddition, I had a pressure ulcer that lead to an extensive skin flap surgery that had me laid up in bed for a long time. The support from family and friendshas got me to the other side and I have found so much time on my hands now we are not fighting wound healing. Thank you all for all you have done.

Now that I am able to start getting up in my wheel chair more and do some rehab, there are so many things I want to do. With your help I have already accomplished some. Although I still need to have my shoulder fixed soon, for now I am focused solely on becoming stronger and moving towards independence. I would like to take advantage of every device and resource that will contribute to making not just my life easier and healthier, but advance the care, resources, andresearch/development, to make the life of all disabled people young and old easier and better. Because when we can make their life easier it makes our life easier and everyone's life better.
