#Incarceratedlivesmatter Phillip Alvin Jones

Hi there! Please join us in supporting our friend, Phillip Alvin Jones

Phillip has been incarcerated for over thirty years, beginning at age 19. He has missed many opportunities to make his life his own. Despite his physical boundaries, Phillip continues to share his light and evolve as a human, and that inspires us at 'Team Phillip' to work for his freedom.

To hear it in his words;
"I only lived 19 years out in society, and so although damage has been done to my psyche, I've used my solitary as an ashram of mental and emotional growth."

We have been raising money to fund telehealth visits for Phillip Alvin Jones, and we are so grateful for the generosity of everyone who has donated so far.  Phillip has been able to access a professional for support, which is so important for someone experiencing the day-to-day reality of life in a correctional facility. We are now expanding our reach to provide comprehensive support for Phillip as he continues to navigate life in prison and work for release. All of your donations go directly to help secure support for Phillip as he builds a network of community members who are contributors on his path to freedom.

Community support is vital and we are very grateful to all of you who have already donated. Please see a message from Phillip below.

Correspondence from Phillip:
In considering how long I have spent in prison, from the age 19 up until now age 50, I want to ask a question.
Was prison really meant to send specific segments of the American population away from society forever, or was it to correct human problems? Was it a weapon used to punish, or rehabilitate?
Prisons have become more or less warehouses to do time, without constructive action plans that might serve to heal an individuals trauma or provide opportunities for redemption through restorative justice.
Reform must consist of taking away the States ability to set sentencing without limits! Address the pain and help to heal it, and prisons will become obsolete! #incarceratedlivesmatter
