Conquering the legacy of illiteracy affecting the world today might seem an arduous task but at Project Aid Foundation, we are taking a step to make a difference.
On January 3rd 2015, Project Aid Foundation is organizing a back-to-school giveaway to encourage low-income elementary schoolers on their quests for an education. We plan to give away backpacks, stationery, writing materials, and snacks, among other things to over 1000 elementary school kids in the Ajah area, Lagos, Nigeria.
More importantly, we will use this opportunity to initiate 1-on-1 discussions with the children, learn about their various interests and accentuate the vital role that an education could play towards helping them attain these aspirations. The goal is to dedicate a full day to celebrate education and spark a conversation with children who are learning in one of the worlds poorest educational infrastructural systems.
Earlier this year, we fed over 1000 less privileged people with festive nutritious meals they would not have otherwise enjoyed. We also provided free healthcare services and counseling for a day.
