PACS Relocation Fund

Donation protected
Pittsburg Area Community Services (PACS) is a local nonprofit that has served the communities of Pittsburg and Clarksville for the past 10 years. The organization runs a thrift shop and food pantry on Main Street in Pittsburg in the former Baldwin building. Due to planned changes in the building PACS will not be given the option to renew a lease to continue operating at our current location and is searching for a new home to move into by the end of August.

Currently PACS fills a great need in the Pittsburg and Clarksville communities. Over the past 5 years PACS has provided over 98,000 pounds of food from the NH Food Bank to residents in our communities. This food is given free of charge to qualified families. Each qualified individual receives 3 meals and 2 snacks for 6 days per month.  Additionally, we provide assistance in accessing other programs such as fuel assistance, food stamps, RESPONSE, New Hampshire health insurance programs, and prescription drug programs. We are also able to provide emergency assistance to families displaced by fires, natural disasters, or domestic violence. Keeping PACS running is key to helping many members of our communities continue to have healthy meals and obtain additional services.

The PACS board of directors is searching for a new location where, at a minimum, the food pantry can operate from. We are in the process of investigating several new rental options and some buildings that are for sale. We are asking the public’s help in locating a space that may be suitable for our needs. Do you own rental property in Pittsburg? Do you have a garage you are not using? Once a new site is located we will also be searching for volunteers to help pack, move, and set-up in our new location.

Funds raised from this campaign will be put in our relocation fund to help cover moving expenses, rent or morgatge payments, and possible renovations to the new space if they are needed. Any donation small or large will be greatly appreciated.

If you have suggestions for new locations or would be available to volunteer please contact Bette King at [phone redacted] or email April Cartwright at [email redacted]. If you prefer to make a donation by check they should be made payable to PACS and mailed to Pittsburg Area Community Services, PO Box 92, Pittsburg NH, 03592. All donation are tax deductible and receipts will be given if requested.
