Design work begins ahead of the expedition and I am lending my time, technical experience in electrical building services and construction in partnership with the local community.
I am very passionate about advancing society through STEM and I have devoted the past ten years to outreach and volunteering initiatives that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in STEM. Young people throughout the world need the skills and knowledge STEM provides to address problems within their communities. I am also designing and will be delivering hands-on STEM activities to engage the students during the expedition.
This expedition affords me the challenge I am seeking in my early career as an engineer to push myself while making a positive difference to improve the life experiences of others.
The total personal cost of the expedition is £4,210. I am self-funding my visa, insurance, flights and vaccinations which sums up to £1,715 and I am seeking your financial support towards my ambitions to raise £2,495.00. £1,995 will cover the expedition fee (meals, accommodation and transportation within Malawi). The balance of the money raised which is 20% (£500) will be donated to the school for activities and community projects.
A separate team fundraising page for building materials is also available which you're welcome to donate to.
Your financial support will be greatly appreciated. We will be giving regular updates throughout the expedition. Please follow the team expedition on twitter (@STEMBuildMalawi ) instagram (STEMbuildMalawi ) or blog (STEM Build Malawi ).
Thank you in advance for your support.
