Preserving Ormond Park

Ormond Park is a small pocket park nestled up against the Mason Esker in Lansing, Michigan. It lies next to the Groesbeck Golf Course and has served the children of this working class neighborhood for over 70 years.
Virg Bernero, the Mayor of Lansing, in the last months of his term, wants to turn the park into a road for Groesbeck Golf Course. He has sidestepped democratic processes, including the approval of the Park Board, the City Council, and public hearings, in order to implement this destruction of our neighborhood park.
We are raising funds for the immediate purpose of getting an injunction against these unvetted, unnecessary, unstudied, and unwanted changes to the park.
All funds raised will be used exclusively for the enhancement and preservation of Ormond Park and other public Lansing parks. Activities may include, but are not limited to: collecting financial donations for legal costs, purchasing playground equipment, and repairing park equipment or structures.
