Moonlight Sonata, a film by Susan Heimsoth of OneDance Productions
We are fundraising to create our next dance film, based on the music of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This film is a story of words - words that are spoken and cannot be retracted. Words that affect our lives, words that we can never forget hearing, never forget speaking. We are currently in rehearsal creating this piece. We will shoot this film in the summer/fall of 2021.
This film is not made for profit, but for our own mental health and for the greater good. OneDance Productions will donate 20% of money raised in this GoFundMe campaign to BC Women"s Hospital in order to assist in women, children and families' mental health. http://www.bcwomens.ca/donate OneDance Productions donates a portion of all profits on all film and photography projects to this charity. Who We Are
Susan Heimsoth is a professional choreographer, dancer, film maker, photographer and teacher who conceptualizes film and art projects with her vision. She is the producer and artistic director of OneDance Productions. The making of Moonlight Sonata is a collaboration with Susan and a group of amateur adult contemporary dancers. Together, we are women, friends, sisters, wives, athletes, mothers, aunts and grandmothers. We have careers and we have families. We are healthcare workers, musicians, accountants, scientists, entrepreneurs and ordinary people. We are driven to create. We are storytellers. We come together in fellowship. Our projects help to give our lives meaning. We are a collective who make short films that reflect the world we live in. The work touches us. We hope that it touches you.
Mad World, A Powerful Demonstration of Art and Collaboration
Our recent film, Mad World, was created to express some of the issues around Covid 19 pandemic. There is a disconnect between Covid protocols (wearing masks and physical distancing) versus nature: connection with the world and each other. To us, it is a Mad World that we are living in. Why You Should Donate
We make art for ourselves and for you. We do it for the mental health of all of us. We do it for our physical health - to keep moving. We do it because of Covid - the pandemic has affected us all. We do it to help make sense of the world that we live in. We hope that you can relate to our work and that you will find meaning in it. The motivation is to lift you up, to lift us up, to move us, to do something and say something in this world. Art is all around us. We all listen to music, watch films, read signs, admire paintings, connect to art. This is what art does. It speaks to the senses and the feelings that are universal in humanity. This GoFundMe page is here to raise funds to offset current and upcoming film production costs. We will shoot our next dance film in summer/fall of 2021. We need your help to keep making art. - A $50 donation will rent 1 green screen for 1 day
- A $100 donation will pay for 1 hour of sound recording studio time
- A $150 donation will pay for rental of 1 production tent
- A $250 donation will pay for 1 park film permit for 1 day
- A $500 donation will assist with camera crew costs for 1 day
- A $1000 donation will assist with post production editing costs*
