One Step At A Time
One step at a time is an athlete-fueled group that gives back to local communities during our explorations around the world. We strive to make a difference by researching the town and giving back to those less fortunate.

We will be flying to Mexico City in December of 2017. From there travel to the town of Tlachichuca at the base of Pico de Orizaba which is the third highest peak in North America. We will be skiing off the summit of the mountain and be delivering items to the local community.

Our main focus is shoes. A new pair of shoes is a life-changing event for someone in need. Not only can they increase physical health they can also improve self-esteem. Buying new shoes is not always an option for everyone, but together we can help. We’re in contact with the local community and they have told us our contributions will be much appreciated.

Why Shoes?
Shoes are important because feet are how we get around. If our feet are comfortable, protected, and well-supported, we can walk farther, stand longer, and do more of the things we need to do. Between the ages 3–10, children's feet grow an average of 1/2 inch per year. The American Podiatric Medical Association states the average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, which adds up to 115,000 miles in a lifetime –that’s more than 4 times the circumference of the globe. Also people are familiar with the way a new pair of shoes can cheer you up. Whether a pair of bouncy new sneakers, or a pair of bright red pumps, new shoes will make you smile and can elevate your confidence.

Your donations will help fund new socks and shoes and help us deliver them to the children in need. Mexico is not the end of this project, if we exceed our goal we can use the money to start a new campaign in other locations around the world. We will also be documenting our trip and invite you to enjoy the experience with us.
