OFFDUTY DEPUTY STRUCK BY HIT AND RUN

Deputy Omar Ramirez from Precinct 4, was struck by 3 hit and run drivers, the morning of September 29th. The incident happened overnight in the southbound lanes near Hopper.The deputy constable, who works for Harris County Pct. 4, was hit in his black charger on the freeway, but the car that hit him fled. While he was able to gain control of his car he tried to move to the right shoulder to safety as another car struck them again. Neither he nor his female passenger were badly hurt, but when he got out of the vehicle to try and get his female passage into safety because he was aware they could be hit again. He was hit by a passing motorist who did not stop, his body was dragged under the carriage of the moving vehicle more than 20 feet. It’s believed another vehicle may have also hit the deputy.He is currently in the emergency room awaiting surgery for the following traumatic injuries.Left femur fractureRight tibia fractureLeft tibia traumatic woundLeft and right jaw fracturesShattered teeth Stitches on both his chin and scalpInternal bleeding in the brain I am his first cousin and I am hoping we can all come together to get him everything he needs to get him back into recovery. This will be a long term life changing experience for him, young 24 year old deputy, fresh into his career. As many of us know he is known as the one to always help others in need; very unfortunate to know not one person stopped to help him.
