Oliver's Going to the Hospital

Three weeks ago, my son, Oliver, badly burned his left hand at his babysitter's house. His entire palm and thumb were burned, and he had to go to the emergency room. We were sent to the Burn Unit in Fresno, where they determined that his burn was a combination 2nd and 3rd degree burn. Since his accident, Oliver has been to the Burn Unit five times, as well as back to the ER for related issues. He ended up needing an IV for dehydration, as well as a spinal tap test for Meningitis.
Oliver's hand has started healing, but this last Wednesday (7/3/13) the doctor determined he will need a full skin graft. The center of his palm, about a 2"x2" section, was so badly burned that there are no new skin cells to grow over it. Without the skin graft, he will lose all use of his left hand.
The skin graft is a "full thickness" graft, which means the doctor will take a section of skin from the inside of his little leg, all the way down to the muscle. He will have stiches and an incision that will need caring for along with the newly grafted hand. The surgery is set for July 18th.
Since Oliver's accident, I have had to take alot of time off work. So far, I have lost over 70 hours of work, unpaid. The doctors have also determined at this time that Oliver's recovery could take up to 5 months, so I have filed for Family Medical Leave. However, this only leaves me with 55% of my normal pay, and I still do not know what his medical bills will entail.
I am not one to ask for money, or help in general, but this situation has caused me to realize that it is okay to ask for help, and there is nothing wrong with asking.
So...I am asking. :)
