Playground Projects!

We have been working to improve our playground and P.E. instruction area. We are trying to build covered basketball courts, additional playground equipment, and replace the deteriorated surface of the field. Over 4oo students in grades k-8 have nowhere to play sports during recess and in class, except on the dirt/sand. As a P.E. Teacher, I must often send students from my classes to the office for frequent visits due to sand getting in their eyes. The hard dirt hurts when they accidentally fall down during recess, football, soccer, and other sports. I’ve even dug out large rocks from the dirt field! All of our school wide events are held in this field. Every present and future student would directly benefit from more equipment and a safer surface to play and learn on.

Donations for this cause will go directly to build the additional playground equipment and basketball courts , as well as, replace the field surface. Ideally, we would like to cover it in low maintenance, padded turf that would last for over a decade or more. However, if we are unable to raise enough funds for turf, we can still cover the field with sod. We need more fitness options and a safer playing surface as soon as possible. As soon as we secure the funds to start these projects, we will begin right away on getting this accomplished for our students! THEY DESERVE IT!
